Mike is a physical therapist in the Navy’s Medical Service Corps. He completed his B.S. degree from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and received a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the US Army-Baylor University physical therapy program in 1993. In 2003 he completed a Doctorate of Science degree from the US Military-Baylor University post-professional physical therapy-sports medicine program conducted at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. His professional areas of interest are sports medicine, injury prevention/performance enhancement, and clinical electrophysiology. Mike is a member of the ABPTS Sports Specialty Council, Sports Research Committee, Specialization Academy of Content Experts (Clinical Electrophysiology) and serves as a manuscript reviewer for the JOSPT, Sports Health, and the Journal of Special Operations Medicine. He is a home study reviewer for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification, has lectured nationally and internationally, and published articles in a variety of journals. Mike is currently the Director of Physical and Occupational Therapy at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, consultant to the Navy Surgeon General for Physical Therapy, and an Associate Professor at Rocky Mountain University of the Health Professions.
