Dr. Kevin R Wait

KEVIN WAIT, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS is a clinical faculty member at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. He manages the development EIM’s Clinical Excellence Network—an innovative clinical education model featuring a standardized curriculum and collaborative learning model. Dr. Wait completed residency training at Gundersen Lutheran Sports Medicine in La Crosse, Wisconsin, after which he became a board certified sports clinical specialist. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He serves as the Education Chair for the Mississippi Physical Therapy Association. In addition to his work with the CEN, Dr. Wait serves as a faculty member for EIM’s trigger-point dry needling and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization courses. His research interests lie in the area of clinical education, trigger-point dry needling, and the use of pressurized treadmill systems in treating lumbo-pelvic and lower extremity injuries in the military population. Dr. Wait has presented at national orthopedic, sports, and education meetings. His professional goal is to effect positive change on physical therapy clinical education through enhanced instruction and collaboration between clinical practice and academia. He also dreams of a world in which sports medicine physical therapy is delivered by evidence-based and fellowship trained hybrid manual and sports therapists.
